Heidi's Story

 

Heidi Vetter is a Forest Service recreation residence specialist. Having lived for many years in a log cabin built in the 1890's she has a passion for the mountains, it's history and a more natural and intimate way of life and living. 

 

Have you ever wandered around a mountain lake, stumbling upon a faint path that leads to a small, rustic cabin cradled in a grove of pines?  Instantly your heart sings aloud and you feel at home. This is the magic, allure and history of "Cabins in the Woods", the US Forest Service century old program of allowing private recreation residences on public lands. 

 

Heidi's desire is to connect people to places of natural beauty while honoring and preserving the pristine wilderness that surrounds these unique properties of historical cabins and  summer homes built upon forest service lands.
